The Urban basement
During a conversation with friends regarding the state of the music industry and its lack of “good” music, the phrase “music isn’t dead, you just have to listen differently,” was born. After weeks pondering on the conversation and the uneasiness felt that the majority of people didn’t know that good music still exists, Founder of The Urban Basement, Carli Rae', began working tirelessly on finding a way to shed light on the up-and-coming artists that were trying to take music back to a state of feeling, and not just songs with catchy hooks. On November 14, 2018, Carli gave a birthday gift, not only to herself, but to the lovers of music and launched The Urban Basement in an effort to highlight independent musicians and their artistry. Setting her blog apart from the rest, The Urban Basement focuses solely on the music and the positive influences the artists have in the industry and their community.
